Pictured above is 3 generations of Flauntys who all have their part in Cedel Downs.
Purchased in 1972 as a stud farm breeding/raising Hereford cattle, Cedel Downs became an internationally renowned Belgian Blue cattle stud farm in the late 1980’s.
Since the 2000’s we have been a commercial beef farm nestled in 350 acres of rolling hills northwest of Auckland.
This year we’ve expanded to bring you our Sunflower Patch to enjoy this summer – breathe fresh country air, cut your own flowers and snap your perfect Insta moments/photos – we have it all!
Formerly the hay paddock, while we’ve planted our sunflower field for your enjoyment, there are also practical reasons to assist soil regeneration. Sunflowers are a way to ‘give back’ to the land – a long tap root reduces soil compaction, spreads nutrients and fractures deep down, improving natural drainage. We invite you to visit Cedel Downs Sunflower Patch and share the natural beauty and wonder of golden colour.
